It was a short run up there for me, and then Baby was able to do her thing. She wasted no time in starting her workout. It was sporadic and nonsensical, but she had fun nonetheless. She was very specific in telling me where I was to stand, if I was to run with her, behind her or in front of her. Most of the time, she preferred I stay behind her. I was able to get a few pics of my track star in action.

After her initial exploration of the track, she checked out the baseball fields (read: played in the dirt) and decided to clean the benches with her wipes (she's very into "cleaning" these days..). She also played with some fallen leaves before doing another short stint on the track. Then it was time to head to a nearby playground. The morning must have worn her out - she's sleeping soundly. These days actual naps are frequent, so I'm grateful that the stars aligned today.
I should also mention that there were other runners on the track this morning, several of whom stopped to comment on the toddler joining them today. "Next Olympian," "She'll be into sports for sure," "How old is she?!?" "Do you like to run?" (yeah) It was pretty fun for me too. Considering the amount of time I spend thinking about running (and/or running myself), it's no problem to add HER running "needs" to the equation. Like mother, like daughter.
