I'm on a roll with this! Yesterday's dinner didn't make the list last week - sometimes things just materialize based on the circumstances. The current circumstances are: COLD. WINTER. And what better way to warm up from an afternoon winter run than with homemade creamy tomato soup and a selection of alpine cheeses. Seriously, you tell me. So that was our Saturday night meal following a family run to Northerly Island to enjoy Polar Adventure Days. After about two and a half miles of running to get there, we saw a barn owl and several Siberian Huskies. Baby was beside herself with joy - she LOVES animals! I'll admit we were on the very tail end of the event, so we missed a lot of the programs, but we also missed the crowds. Very few were still lingering by the time we showed up. After warming up indoors, we let Baby do some walking and running of her own.

So, here's my third installment of Menu Planning. Enjoy!
Sunday: Beef Carbonnade (the version on page 137 in the book, "The Country Cooking of France")
Monday: Roasted beets, smoked blue cheese, vinaigrette on frisee. Roasted Korean black garlic with butter slathered on toasted bread (garlic bread, basically).
Tuesday: White bean puree (made with roasted korean black garlic, parsley, olive oil, lemon and pepper) served with crusty bread and crunchy raw carrots.
Wednesday: Orechette, broccoli rabe, spicy italian sausage with olive oil and parmesan.
Thursday: Fish (en pappilotte) Probably a white fish with parsley, lemon and shallot. Maybe tarragon too. Will keep it simple.
Friday: Guacamole (avocado, scallions, jalepeno, cilantro, lime) and cheese quesidillas. This will also be an at-home stout and porter tasting night - so the meal is kind of ancillary.

Your menu always sounds amazing! And I love the pictures of you two running together... too cute!
Love the photos! Especially running with mommy :)
I've never tried adding scallions to my guac. I'll have to try it.
I love orechette, and made something very similar for last night's dinner! I just like saying "orechette" and love that it translates to "little ears"! How cute is that?
