I completed my first triathlon! It was a sprint triathlon capped at 350 participants and consisted of a 300yd swim, 10 mile bike, and a 5K. My results are listed below:

It was an awesome experience, and I am looking forward to doing another one at some point. My favorite part was the swim. I could have done a lot better at the bike, my weakest time (at 15 mph), but I was sort of out there on a leisurely ride. The run (8:36 pace) was done in some brutal heat and humidity, and I really felt like I was choking on water the whole time. But it was a great feeling to add a completed TRI to my resume.
As for the running this week, it was minimal. I sprained my ankle or something and decided to take some extra rest days. Plus I was biking a bit to prep for the Tri.
Monday: 6 mile bike, 4 mile run
Tuesday: 5 mile bike, 4 mile run
Wednesday: off, due to ankle pain
Thursday: 6 mile bike
Friday: 5 mile bike, 300 yd swim, 1 mile run (a test to see if all my Tri-necessary body parts were fully functioning)
Weekly: 12 miles
nb: I am not too concerned about my MIA long run or low mileage this week. I will put in some quality runs next week and see how much of the scheduled 16 I can cover on Sat.
